Neo-paganism is a type of revivalist pagan religion.
Neo-paganism is characterized by the combination of elements of ancient pagan religion (such as particular deities) with other elements that were not present in such ancient religions. That is in contrast to reconstructionist paganism, which revives the ancient pagan religions in an unmodified form, insofar as the limited knowledge of such ancient religions permits.
